Mufti Fazlul Haque Amini's son Maulana Abul Hasnat was picked up by plain-clothed police from the Tipu Sultan Road of Dhaka city's Dholaikhan on Apr 10, 2011.
It may be noted that Maulana Abul Hasanat's mother is a daughter of Late Hazrat Maulana Mohammadullah Hafezzi Huzur (R.A.).
BNP Acting Secretary-General Mirza Fakhrul said, "BNP believes that Hasnat was abducted following a government order."
Mufti Fazlul Haque Amini has alleged that two activists of his party were killed and his son was abducted at the behest of the prime minister.
Note on Forced Disappearance :
A forced disappearance (or enforced disappearance) occurs when a person is secretly imprisoned or killed by agents of the state or by another party, such as a terrorist or criminal group. The party responsible for a disappearance does not admit to having carried out the act, thereby placing the victim outside the protection of the law.
According to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, which came into force on 1 July 2002, when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed at any civilian population, a "forced disappearance" qualifies as a crime against humanity, and thus is not subject to a statute of limitations. On 20 December 2006, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance.

Hasanat went there along with his two friends, 'Humayun' and 'Raihan', to have his father's car repaired. Their mobile phones were taken away too, Wasel claimed. Officer in-charge of Sutrapur police Nazrul Islam, however, denied the allegation and said no one of such name was handed over to the station by any agency.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the allegation and the demand at a press briefing at the party’s central office this (Saturday) noon.
He said BNP thinks Hasnat was abducted at the instruction of the government in the same way the members of the security forces have kidnapped the leaders and workers of opposition across the country including DCC ward councilor Chowdhury Alam and kept them concealed.
Fakhrul mentioned that on April 10 some armed men introducing them as people of the administration kidnapped Abul Hasnat from Tipu Sultan Road of the capital.
He said that like IOJ chairman Mufti Aminee and his family, the BNP is also deeply worried as no government agency had admitted detaining Hasnat although six days have passed since his disappearance.
Meanwhile, the BNP acting secretary general condemned the police attack on a BNP procession in Jhenidah today (Saturday) as a part of the countrywide demonstration protesting the Prime Minister’s “vindictive directive” for quick disposal of “politically motivated false cases” against BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman Koko.
He said 25 party activists were injured in the police baton charge on the BNP procession.
Amini threatens to paralyse countryIt can be done in 10 minutes, he claims→ Staff Correspondent Islami Oikya Jote Chairman Fazlul Huq Amini has threatened to paralyse the country if his son, who has been missing since Sunday, was not released by Friday.
“If my son is not released by today (Friday), the consequence will be disastrous. We have the capacity to paralyse the country within an hour or even in 10 minutes by announcing tough programmes,” Amini told a rally organised by Islamic Law Implementing Commi-ttee at Jatiya Press Club in the city on Friday.
The rightwing leader accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of abducting his son Abul Hasnat.
Earlier on Sunday, Amini alleged that the Detective Branch of police arrested his youngest son Hasnat from Dholaikhal of Sutrapur in the city.
Police, however, denied the allegation saying that they did not arrest any of Amini’s sons.
The IOJ chief also blamed Hasina for killing two of Islamic Law Implementing Committee members in Chittagong and Jessore. They were reportedly killed during clashes between the law enforcers and the bigots on March 3.
“No one can keep me away from street movements by threatening through mobile phone,” Amini said adding that he will continue the movement until the government cancel the women policy.
Amini also said he is not against the women development policy but the current policy is contrary to the Quran and Sunnah. “It must be amended,” he added.
Khelafat Majlish Ameer Maulana Mohammad Ishak, Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdul Latif Nejami and General Secretary of Islamic Law Implementing Committee, Mufti Wakkas, among others, addressed the rally.
