দিল্লির সুলতানের কাছে তার প্রধান গোয়েন্দা ও বিশেষ উপদেষ্টা একবার নালিশ করলেন যে, একজন দরবেশ কখনোই রাজকীয় দাওয়াতে প্রাসাদে আসেন না। কোন উৎসব অনুষ্ঠানেই তাকে হাজির করা যায় না। শাহী দরবারের মন্ত্রিসভা সভাসদের কাউকে নিজে দাঁড়িয়ে সম্মান তো জানানই না, এদের কেউ তাকে সালাম দিলে এর জবাব পর্যন্ত দেন না, তিনি নিজের খানকায় একাকী ইবাদতে কাটান, উৎসাহী লোকজন সেখানেই ছুটে যায়। মসজিদে গেলেও তিনি খুব নির্জনতা তালাশ করেন এবং দর্শনার্থীদের থেকে পালিয়ে বেড়ান। লোকটিকে খুব অহংকারী মনে হয়, নতুবা সালতানাতের বিরুদ্ধে  কোন ষড়যন্ত্র পাকাচ্ছেন। তার বিষয়ে ব্যবস্থা নেয়া উচিত। একথা শুনে সুলতান বললেন, তার বিষয়ে আপনাদের আর কোন কাজ নেই। আমি নিজেই এর খোঁজখবর নেব।

যথারীতি সুলতান একদিন ছদ্মবেশে দরবেশের খানকায় গেলেন। দীর্ঘক্ষণ অবস্থান করে যখন ভিড় কমে গেল তখন তার খুব কাছে গিয়ে জানতে চাইলেন, কেন তিনি শাহী দাওয়াতে যান না। জনসমাগমস্থলে গমন করেন না। মসজিদে গিয়েও সবাইকে এড়িয়ে চলেন। সালাম দেয়া-নেয়ার ব্যাপারেও তার একধরনের অনীহাভাব। বিশেষ করে সুলতানের দরবারে তাকে কিছুতেই নেয়া যায় না। এসব প্রশ্ন শুনে দরবেশ তার হাতে ধরে বললেন, দিল্লির বাদশাহ শোন, এসবের উত্তর এক কথায় দেয়া যাবে না। আগামী শুক্রবার সকল মন্ত্রী, সভাসদ নিয়ে এখানে নামাজ পড়। সবাইকে এখানে আসার নির্দেশ দিয়ে, নিজে ছদ্মবেশেই আমার পাশে থেকো।

ছদ্মবেশ ধরা সত্ত্বেও দরবেশ বাদশাহকে চিনে ফেলেছেন বলে বাদশাহ কিছুটা ঘাবড়ে যান। শুক্রবার জুমার পর দরবেশ মসজিদের দরজায় দাঁড়িয়ে বাদশাহকে বললেন, তুমি এখানে দাঁড়িয়ে সব মন্ত্রী, সভাসদ, কর্মকর্তা ও বিশিষ্টজনদের নামাজ শেষে ফিরে যাওয়া দেখে এরপর আমার খানকায় আসবে। এ কথা বলে দরবেশ তার টুপিখানা বাদশাহর মাথায় পরিয়ে দিলেন। দরবেশ যেই মসজিদ থেকে বের হয়েছেন, দেখেন বাদশাহ ভয় পেয়ে দৌড়ে মসজিদ প্রাঙ্গণ পেছনে ফেলে পাশের জঙ্গলে গিয়ে গা ঢাকা দেয়ার চেষ্টা করছেন। দরবেশ তখন তাকে ইশারা করে বললেন, টুপিটি দ্রুত খুলে ফেলতে। টুপি খুলে ফেললেও বেশ কিছুক্ষণ লাগল তার শান্ত ও স্বাভাবিক হতে।

দরবেশ বাদশাহকে বললেন, কী ব্যাপার? দৌড়ে পালাচ্ছিলে কেন?

বাদশাহ জবাব দিলেন, দেখলাম আমার সামনে হিংস্র সব জন্তু। বড় বড় অজগর, বাঘ, ভল্লুক, সিংহ ও গন্ডার।

দরবেশ বললেন, এরাই তোমার মন্ত্রী, উপদেষ্টা, সভাসদ ও কর্মকর্তা। আর শোন, যে টুপিটি পরে তুমি তাদের ভেতরের রূপ দেখতে পেলে এবং ভয়ে দৌড়ে গিয়ে জঙ্গলে পালালে, এ টুপিটিই আমাকে রাত-দিন মাথায় পরে থাকতে হয়। তাহলে বল, আমার কতটা ভয় লাগে? কী পরিমাণ সাহস ও ধৈর্য নিয়ে আমি এ সমাজে বাস করি। তা ছাড়া কেন আমি বেশি ঘুরে বেড়াই না, রাজ দরবারে যাই না, সমাবেশে গেলেও নির্জনতা খুঁজে বেড়াই, সালাম দেয়া-নেয়া করতেও ভয় পাই, তা কি তোমায় এখনো বুঝিয়ে বলতে হবে?

বাদশাহ দরবেশের পায়ে পড়ে গেলেন আর বললেন আমার বাহ্যিক রাজত্ব এখন ব্যর্থ। আমার চারপাশে তো শয়তানের রাজত্ব চলছে। আপনি কোরআন-সুন্নাহের আলোয় আধ্যাত্মিক ক্ষমতাবলে এ সাম্রাজ্যে মনুষ্যত্ব ফিরিয়ে আনুন। মানুষ তার বাহ্যিক রূপের মতোই ভেতর থেকেও মানুষ হোক। এসব সাপ, বিচ্ছু, কুকুর, শৃগাল, বাঘ, সিংহ, আর কুমির চরিত্রের লোকজন নিয়ে সমাজ চলবে কী করে?

দরবেশ বাদশাহকে সান্তনা দিলেন। তার দোয়া ও পরামর্শ নিয়ে সাম্রাজ্য পরিচালনার মাধ্যমে পরিস্থিতি পরিবর্তনের আশা দিয়ে তাকে প্রাসাদে ফিরে যেতে বললেন।

দিল্লির কুতুব মিনার যে দরবেশের নামে সুলতান কুতুবুদ্দীন আইবেক তৈরি করেন তিনিই আলোচ্য দরবেশ হজরত কুতবুদ্দীন বখতিয়ার কাকী (রহ.)। তিনি ছিলেন দিল্লির সুলতানের পীর-মুরশিদ ও আধ্যাত্মিক দিশারি। মানবতার উন্নয়নে ও আধ্যাত্মিক বিপ্লব সাধনে বিশ্বসভ্যতায় এরাই সফলতম ব্যক্তিত্ব। আজকের পৃথিবী যদি মুক্তি ও শান্তি চায় তাহলে এদের পথই তাকে লক্ষ্যে নিয়ে যাবে।

আধুনিক যুগেও দায়িত্বশীলদের কোন দিব্য দৃষ্টিবান দরবেশের কাশ্ফ ও কারামাতের সাহায্য নিয়ে নিজের চারপাশ ভালো করে দেখে নেয়া উচিত। তাদের আশপাশে কতজন মানুষ আছেন, আর কী পরিমাণ রয়েছে মানবরূপী হিংস্র জানোয়ার।

যুগে যুগে মানবসমাজকে আত্মশুদ্ধি, ধর্মীয় অনুশাসন, মানবিক প্রেরণা, প্রেমময় মোটিভেশন, আইনের শাসন ও সামাজিক মূল্যবোধে অভ্যস্ত করে এ পর্যায়ে নিয়ে আসার পথে জীবনপাত করেছেন লাখো পীর-আউলিয়া-লোকশিক্ষক। শাসক ও বিচারকদের শিষ্টের পালন আর দুষ্টের দমননীতি সভ্যতাকে এ পর্যায়ে এনে দাঁড় করিয়েছে। কিন্তু সুশাসন ন্যায়বিচার ও নৈতিকতার অভাব সমাজকে আবার পিছিয়ে দিতে পারে। দায়িত্বশীলদের গাফিলতি মানুষকে করতে পারে অমানুষ। সভ্যতা ধ্বংস হয়ে যেতে পারে নেতৃত্বের অপরিনামদর্শী আচরণে।

 বিশ্বব্যাপী দায়িত্বশীলদের জন্য এ বার্তাটি খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। পবিত্র কোরআনে মহান আল্লাহ বলেন,

তোমরা আমার অনুগ্রহের কথা স্মরণ কর, যখন তোমরা পরস্পরে শত্রু ছিলে, আল্লাহ তোমাদের অন্তরকে জুড়ে দিয়েছেন, আল্লাহর রহমতে তোমরা ভাইভাই হয়ে গিয়েছ। তোমরা দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলে পতনোন্মুখ তীরে, যা তোমাদের নিয়ে ধসে পড়ছিল জাহান্নামের আগুনে। হঠাৎ করেই আল্লাহ তোমাদের এ অবস্থা থেকে রক্ষা করলেন।

সভ্যতার ধ্বংস যখন নিশ্চিত হয়ে গিয়েছিল তখন মহানবী (সা.)কে প্রেরণের মধ্য দিয়ে মহান আল্লাহ মানবসভ্যতাকে নতুন জীবন দিলেন। শত শত বছরের দীক্ষা, সুশাসন ও ন্যায় বিচারের মধ্য দিয়ে গড়ে ওঠা মানবসভ্যতা বর্তমানে নীতিহীনতার চর্চার ফলে আবারো ধ্বংসের দ্বারপ্রান্তে। এ থেকে নিষ্কৃতির উপায় আমাদেরই খুঁজে বের করতে হবে।দুঃশাসন, হতাশা, বঞ্চনা, বিচারহীনতা, দুর্নীতি, পাপাচার ও বিশ্বাসভঙ্গ থেকে জন্ম নেয় সামাজিক অস্থিরতা। মানুষ ধৈর্য, সহিষ্ণুতা, দয়া-মায়া, ক্ষমা, ভালোবাসা, মানবিকতা ভুলে গিয়ে হয়ে ওঠে শয়তানের মতো খারাপ। পশুরাও তখন লজ্জা পায় এসব মানুষকে। এদের পশুর মতো বললে পশুরাও এতে লজ্জা পায়। কেননা, পশুরা হিংস্র ও নির্দয় হলেও এর একটি সীমা আছে। কিন্তু মানুষ যখন খারাপ হয় তখন সে অল্পেই পশুকে ছাড়িয়ে যায়। তখন তার উপর চলে শয়তানের রাজত্ব। শয়তান তাকে দিয়ে এমন সব নিষ্ঠুরতা, অমানবিকতা ও বেহায়াপনা করাতে পারে যা পশুদের দ্বারা সম্ভব নয়।

আল্লাহর উপর আস্থা ও বিশ্বাস, আল্লাহর আজাবের ভয়, পরকালে কঠিন শাস্তির ভয়, আইন-বিচার ও সামাজিক প্রতিকারের ভয়, রাষ্ট্রীয় প্রতিবিধানের ভয় মানুষকে শয়তান হওয়া থেকে ফিরিয়ে রাখে। এর আগে প্রয়োজন সুশিক্ষা, সুস্থ সমাজব্যবস্থা, ধর্মীয় পরিচর্যা, ইতিবাচক সামাজিক আন্দোলন।

বর্তমান বিশ্বে ধর্মকেই সবার আগে আঘাত করা হচ্ছে। ধর্মহীনতাকে বানানো হচ্ছে মানুষের প্রধান নীতি। আল্লাহ ও আখিরাতের প্রতি অবিশ্বাস গড়ে তোলার হাজারো চেষ্টা চলছে। মানবতার মুক্তিদূত প্রিয়নবী (সা.)কে করা হচ্ছে লাঞ্ছনা ও অবমাননার টার্গেট। নির্বিচারে যৌন উত্তেজনাপূর্ণ বিষয়ের চর্চা প্রতিটি মানুষের জন্য সহজলভ্য করে দেয়া হচ্ছে। যাকে অশ্লীলতার অনুশীলন ও প্রচারের মতো মারাত্মক পাপের ভয়াল ব্যাপ্তি বলাই ভালো। পবিত্র কোরআনে যাকে দুনিয়া ও আখিরাতের কঠিনতম দুঃখের কারণরূপে আখ্যায়িত করা হয়েছে।

চলছে বিশ্বব্যাপী রাষ্ট্রীয় সন্ত্রাস, নারী-শিশু ও অসহায় মানুষের নির্বিচার হত্যাযজ্ঞ। মিথ্যা, শঠতা, নির্যাতন, নিপীড়ন, লুটপাট, শোষণ ও অন্যায়ের এমন নিশ্চিন্ত মহোৎসব অতীত পৃথিবীতে ছিল বলে ইতিহাস সাক্ষ্য দেয় না।

পাপ ও অন্যায়, প্রাণ, প্রকৃতি ও জলবায়ুর উপরও তার মন্দ প্রভাব ফেলে। হাদিস শরিফে হজরত মহানবী (সা.) বলেছেন। পবিত্র কোরআনে মহান আল্লাহ তা’আলাও ঘোষণা করেছেন, জল-স্থল ও অন্তরীক্ষে প্রকাশিত নানা বিপর্যয় তোমাদেরই হাতের উপার্জন। মিথ্যাচার, ওজনে কমবেশি, প্রতারণা, অশ্লীলতা, জুলুম, নির্যাতন ইত্যাদি বিভিন্ন ধরনের পাপাচার সমাজে নানা ধরনের বিকৃতি ধ্বংস ও সর্বনাশ ডেকে আনে যা সংশ্লিষ্ট দায়িত্বশীলদের প্রায়শ্চিত্ত ছাড়া শেষ হয় না।

পরিবারে যিনি প্রধান, সমাজে যারা দায়িত্বশীল, সরকারে যারা কর্তৃত্বশীল, রাষ্ট্রে যারা জিম্মাদার তাদের প্রত্যেককে নিজ অবস্থান সম্পর্কে সচেতন থাকতে হবে। কেননা, মহান স্রষ্টা তার গোটা জগত পরিচালনার জন্য যাকে যেখানে দায়িত্ব দিয়ে রেখেছেন, একদিন তাকে অবশ্যই সে দায়িত্ব সম্পর্কে জবাবদিহি করতে হবে। যদি দায়িত্বশীল ব্যক্তি আল্লাহর দেয়া শিক্ষা, বিবেচনা, বোধ ও আদর্শ কাজে লাগিয়ে সঠিক ভূমিকা রাখেন তাহলে তিনি নিষ্কৃতি পাবেন। আর যদি তার মন মগজ ও নীতিতে শয়তান রাজত্ব করে, যদি তিনি শয়তানের ইশারায় যাচ্ছেতাই করেন তাহলে তার ভবিষ্যৎ খুবই অন্ধকার। আল্লাহর বিচারে তিনি অবশ্যই ধরা পড়বেন। অন্যায়, অবিচার, নিষ্ঠুরতা, পাশবিকতা, অশ্লীলতা ও পাপাচার রোধ করা না হলে একটি সভ্যতাও বিলুপ্ত হয়ে যায়, একটি দেশ জাতি ও সমাজ হয়ে ওঠে মনুষ্য বাসের অনুপযোগী।

নেতৃবর্গ, শাসক, সমাজপতিদের এ বোধশক্তিটি লাভ করতে হলে শয়তানের শক্তি থেকে পানাহ চেয়ে আল্লাহর আশ্রয় প্রার্থনা করার বিকল্প নেই। ন্যায়নীতি, সুবিচার ও উত্তমশাসন ছাড়া কোন সমাজ উন্নতি করতে পারে না। বাংলাদেশের সমাজ যত দ্রুত নীতিনিষ্ঠ হবে ততই মঙ্গল, নয়তো এর শেষ শৃঙ্খলাটুকুও ধরে রাখা সম্ভব হবে কি না জানা নেই। 

RSS's so-called 'Ghar Waapsi' programme : RSS asks Dharm Jagran to call off conversion drive in Aligarh on December 25

The proposed mass conversion scheduled to be held on December 25 in Aligarh by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) offshoot Dharam Jagran Samiti (DJS) has been called off, sources said on Tuesday.

The exact reasons behind the calling off of conversion are not known but the sources said the move comes after the Aligarh district administration warned DJS, a western Uttar Pradesh-based Hindutva group, that it will now the conversion programme to be held.

Minority communities had also voiced concern over the RSS offshoot's proposed programme and had expressed apprehension that if DJS was allowed to go ahead with its programme, then it might result in law and order problem.

The district administration asked DJS to call off the conversion drive. Though DJS had earlier had earlier said it would go ahead with its reconversion programme on December 25, it seems they have been made to do a rethink.

The district administration had said the proposed mass conversion will not be allowed under "any circumstance" and clamped prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC in the city. "Under no circumstances will we allow the proposed mass conversation programme slated for December 25," DIG of Aligarh Zone Amit Agarwal had said.

He said, "The so-called 'ghar waapsi' programme organized by the Dharam Jagran Samiti can become a law and order issue for the state and irrespective of the finer details of this event it cannot be allowed to be held."

Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Hind Demands Probe funding of RSS, other Hindutva outfits

Mumbai: Jamiat-e-Ulema Maharashtra while terming the allegations made by BJP MLA Ashish Shelar as 'bundle of lies' demanded a probe into the funding of the RSS and other Hindutva outfits. 

"We are fully ready for any kind of inquiry the govt  wants to initiate against the Jamiat-e-Ulema. But, it should also initiate similar probe against the RSS and other Hindutva outfits to cheque their sources of funding", Jamiat-e-Ulema Maharashtra Gen Secretary Haleemulah Qasmi said while talking to the media.

Qasmi was reacting to the allegations levelled by Mumbai BJP president and MLA Ashish Shelar in the Maharashtra assembly against the Jamiat-e-Ulema. 

While stating that the Jamiat-e-Ulema is promoting terrorism by providing legal aid to those arrested in terror cases, Shelar had demanded an inquiry into the funding of the Jamiat. Shelar had also demanded a ban on the Jamiat if necessary. 

Shelar's allegations made in the Maharashtra assembly were protested by the opposition MLAs especially those belonging to Congress,  Samajwadi Party, AIMIM.CM Fadnavis however defended his party MLA and also favored an inquiry against the Jamiat. ummid.com

BJP MLA Ashish Shelar has sought a ban on Indian Muslims biggest NGO Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind

Nagpur: In a fresh controversy from the saffron coalition in Maharashtra, BJP MLA Ashish Shelar has sought a ban on Muslims’ biggest NGO Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind alleging that its secretary has underworld connection and that it promotes ‘terrorism’ by providing legal assistance to terror accused.

Shelar, a BJP MLA from Bandra (West), and Mumbai BJP president, said in the Maharashtra assembly’s ongoing winter session here on Thursday the Maharashtra Jamiat-e-Ulema is not a registered body and that “its president Gulzar Azmi and his ‘brother’ Mustaqeem Azmi have links with Chhota Shakeel gang.”

Considering Jamiat’s role in providing legal assistance to terror accused as an offense, he said, “The Jamiat-e-Ulema collects huge donations to fight the cases of people arrested in terror related cases. It promotes terrorism in the country. It should be banned without further delay”.

“These are serious charges, and there is an urgent need to probe them. If found necessary, the Jamiat-e-Ulema should be banned,” he demanded.

Jamiat has denied all such allegations.

Another BJP MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha raised the issue of loud speakers on mosques and called for declaring the loud speakers on the minars of mosque to be illegal and to take strict measures for controlling the volumes of Azan coming from mosques.

“At times when we are sleeping or in an important meeting, we get disturbed by the loud noises coming from the mosque. Therefore I request the government to either order for taking down loud speakers from Mumbai mosques or to issue directions to mosques to lessen their volumes,” he said in the assembly.

Both these MLAs spoke in the assembly when there was a discussion going on the law and order situation in the state.

Flak from Muslim MLAs and opposition parties

Agitated with the comments from Shelar against Jamiat Ulema, came in strong condemnation by the Congress, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) and Samajwadi Party MLAs in the house.

Some of the Muslim MLAs protested these statements and unanimously requested Shelar to read the history of Jamiat Ulema and remove his ignorance about the highly respected Indian Muslim NGO that had also participated during Independence movement with several sacrifices.

“India’s first education minister and one of the leading figures in the country’s freedom struggle Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was president of the Jamia-e-Ulema. The country’s top leaders including Mahatma Gandhi have graced the Jamiat-e-Ulema sessions. Defamatory remarks against such an organisation are unacceptable,” Asif Shaikh Rasheed, Congress MLA from Malegaon (Central) said in the house.

Another Congress MLA Amin Patel advised Shelar to read contribution of Jamiat in the Independence of the country and said, “If you would ever know how Jamiat sacrificed during Independence, then you would not have maligned it this way.”

He also clarified that Jamiat does not provide legal assistance to every terror accused but only after verifying their innocence. He also said that Jamiat supports financial assistance all around the country during any natural calamity irrespective of religion of the victims.

Congress MLA from Chandiwali and former minority minister Arif Naseem Khan condemned Shelar’s anti-Jamiat statements and said that there is a need to ban those organizations that work for dividing the people but Jamiat is an NGO that helps in uniting the different communities.

“Today with the growing communal environment the organizations like RSS, VHP or Bajrang Dal should be banned who are dividing the society and creating hatred. Jamiat never promoted hatred and is very much secular organization that provides help to not only Muslims but also to Non Muslim victims,” he said.

Samajwadi Maharashtra chief and MLA Abu Asim Azmi said, “Jamiat is highly prestigious institution that always indulge only in good works and there should not be any doubt about its contribution in the social activities.”

The house speaker Hari Bhau Bagade did not allow any BJP MLA to respond and discontinued the discussion on the topic.

Jamiat Ulema’s account

Calling BJP MLA Shelar to be an ignorant person who never knew of Jamiat Ulema’s history, Jamiat Ulema Hind legal secretary Gulzar Azmi told TwoCircles.net: “Jamiat Ulema was honoured by the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi due to its contribution in Independence struggle. We are the organization that has sacrificed maximum as compared with any other saffron organization for the Independence of the country.”

“We had even objected to the division of the country,” he said, adding, “It is disgusting that people who killed father of the nation are called patriotic by the new party members where as they are questioning the patriotism of those who spent their lives for independence.”

Explaining the Jamiat’s motive in providing legal assistance to terror accused, Azmi said: “We do not provide assistance to terrorists but to innocent people implicated by police. We have a check before extending help to any accused and only after our panel is satisfied, we provide help.”

“We have till now helped to get acquittal of 63 accused who are now being proved innocent, is that a crime or is it anti national?” he questioned.

“We also provide help to non Muslims. We have helped two non Muslims from going into the gallows by getting favorable judgment from session court and one from Bombay High Court,” he explained.

Jamiat advocate Shahid Nadeem Ansari reciprocated while speaking with TwoCircles.net and said that Shelar does not have correct information. He said, “Gulzar Azmi is the secretary of the Jamiat-e-Ulema Legal Cell whereas Mustaqueem Azmi is its president. The two are not brothers as claimed by Shelar.”

When inquired if Jamiat is providing aid to Abu Jindal, an accused in the 26/11 case, he denied and said, “Jamiat is not providing any legal aid to Abu Jindal as claimed by Shelar. It can be verified from the court documents.”

Are people who think 9/11 was an inside job suffering from pathological delusions?

That is what the mainstream media tell us. But a recent study published in Frontiers of Psychology suggests the contrary. It found that 29 of 30 research subjects - 97% of the sample - turned out to be "9/11 conspiracy theorists." And it concluded that questioning the official version of 9/11, and constructing an alternative explanation, is a sign of psychological health.

The article's title "Thirty shades of truth: conspiracy theories as stories of individuation, not of pathological delusion" summarizes its key finding: People who doubt the mainstream media's version of 9/11 are not deluded. Quite the opposite: They are notable for "individuation," a term coined by Carl Jung which he defined as: "The better and more complete fulfillment of the collective qualities of the human being."

Are 9/11 truthers and other independent-minded skeptics really better and more fulfilled human beings? That is the exact opposite of what mainstream propaganda has been telling us.

The term "conspiracy theorist" was launched into wide circulation in the 1960s by the CIA 's Document 1035-960. That memo, entitled  “Countering Criticism of the Warren Commission Report," ordered the CIA's Operation Mockingbird media assets to smear people asking questions about the JFK assassination by labeling them "conspiracy theorists." Since then, "conspiracy theorist" has served as a weaponized term. Whenever defenders of an official myth cannot argue convincingly on the basis of facts and logic, they resort to the ad hominem "conspiracy theorist" insult as a weapon of last resort.

So the good news is that the explosion of "conspiracy theories" in the wake of 9/11 is not a symptom of collective insanity or mass delusion. On the contrary, it is a sign that people are growing psychologically healthier.

And if the study's sample is any indication, more and more people are becoming psychologically healthy. Psychologist Marius H. Raab and his four co-authors discovered that 29 of the 30 participants in their "constructing 9/11 narratives" experiment refused to swallow the official version of 9/11; only one participant fully endorsed the official story (and that person admitted to having no interest whatsoever in 9/11). Perhaps the public is becoming saner, better-adjusted, and better-informed than even the most wild-eyed conspiracy optimist would have believed.

Why are alternative 9/11 conspiracy theories psychologically healthier than the Official Conspiracy Theory (OCT)? The obvious answer is that the OCT is transparently false. Believing something that is self-evidently highly improbable, and contradicted by all available evidence, is virtually a textbook definition of "pathological delusion." The "two planes took down three skyscrapers" claim is ridiculous on its face; and the notion that "radical Muslims" who relished pork chops and debauchery, and could not even fly Cessnas, could achieve stunt-flying feats beyond the abilities of the world's best pilots, is bizarre beyond belief.

Another obvious answer is that the Official Conspiracy Theory (OCT) is paranoid, racist, and murderous. Believers in the OCT have murdered more than one million Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan based on the paranoid delusion that “radical Muslims” carried out 9/11. If killing one person on the basis of their religion or skin color is a hate crime, what shall we call the murder of more than a million?

Unsurprisingly, Raab and his co-authors avoid these all-too-obvious, all-too-controversial points. Instead, they suggest that the process of developing an Alternative Conspiracy Theory (ACT) is a sign of individuation, meaning psychological health and fulfillment.

Why is it psychologically beneficial to construct one’s own narrative about what really happened on 9/11 by assembling facts, including those that do not fit the Official Conspiracy Theory?

The study's authors cite French philosopher Jean-François Lyotard's claim that people no longer swallow the grand, mythic narratives of the past. Today, people create their own individual "little stories" to help them understand what is going on, and to give meaning and purpose to their lives. Jung saw this kind of individualized creativity as a healthy sign of what he called individuation: The self-fulfillment of the individual.

According to the study's authors, constructing one's own 9/11 narrative in opposition to the OCT is "an attempt to emphasize a personal set of values and thus to organize and regulate one's life experience in a meaningful way." Each 9/11 skeptic's explanation of what really happened on 9/11 is "a dynamic narration reflecting an individual's values" such as concern for individual liberty and morality. Unlike former Obama information Czar Cass Sunstein, who wants the government to infiltrate, disrupt, and "disable the purveyors of conspiracy theories," Professor Raab and coauthors seem to welcome the spread of 9/11 skepticism and the self-fulfillment it brings.

While the article's authors avoid passing judgment on the 9/11 Official Conspiracy Theory, they do admit that so-called conspiracy theories can awaken people to the reality of actual conspiracies: "Narratives about dystopian developments make us aware of such developments in the first place." Decrying government officials' unethical behavior can "make us (and others) cautious about the violation of ethical standards." In short, discussing conspiracies such as 9/11 can help raise awareness of the dystopian elements of today's world, and discourage power elites from staging more false-flag attacks.

But wait a minute - aren't "conspiracy theorists" a bunch of pathetic losers who invent preposterous, paranoid tales to justify their own feelings of powerlessness? The answer, according to the study's authors, is a definitive "no."

Some scholars, echoing the CIA's ad hominem campaign against "conspiracy theorists," have posited that those who believe in Alternative Conspiracy Theories should score low on the scale of self-efficacy - a psychological measurement of a person's sense of healthy confidence in their own abilities. But it turns out that this is not the case.

Professor Raab and the four co-authors were surprised by this finding: "In accordance with the premise that supporters of conspiracy theories share some kind of cognitive or emotional disposition, we expected people with a low level of self-efficacy to be more susceptible for any kind of conspiracy theory than people who reported a high level of self-efficacy....(but)...The relation between self-efficacy and belief in conspiracy theories turned out to be non-significant...The data did not justify—or even suggest—the assumption that self-efficacy is related to endorsement in common conspiracy theories."

In short, the study found nothing negative - and much that is positive - about "conspiracy theories" and "conspiracy theorists."

The article also "New studies: ‘Conspiracy theorists’ sane; government dupes crazy, hostile" reported on scholarship challenging mainstream assumptions that "conspiracy theories" are a bad thing and "conspiracy theorists" are defective. As we learn more about such events as 9/11 and the competing stories they generate, it becomes increasingly clear that the so-called "conspiracy theorists" are not just right about the facts; they are also psychologically better-adjusted than the dwindling legion of brainwashed dupes and shills who oppose them.

প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা বলেছেন, ইসলামিক জঙ্গী বলতে কিছু নেই। চরমপন্থী জঙ্গীদের কোন ধর্ম নেই, কোনো ভৌগোলিক সীমানা নেই। এদের ধর্ম সন্ত্রাস। সারা পৃথিবী এদের ভৌগোলিক সীমানা। এসব জঙ্গীদের কোনো জাতিগত বা ধর্মগত পরিচয়ের মধ্যে গুলিয়ে ফেলা ঠিক নয়। এদের ইসলামিক জঙ্গী সন্ত্রাসী হিসেবে অভিযুক্ত করা সঠিক নয়। তাদের অপকর্মের জন্য কোন ধর্মকে দায়ী করা যাবে না। প্রধানমন্ত্রী গতকাল সোমবার মন্ত্রিসভার বৈঠকে অনির্ধারিত আলোচনায় এসব কথা বলেছেন বলে জানা গেছে। 

 শুধু প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা নয়, বিশ্বব্যাপী ইসলামিক চিন্তাবিদগণও মনে করেন, জঙ্গীবাদ ও সন্ত্রাসবাদকে ‘ইসলামিক অবয়ব’ দেয়া একটি সাম্রাজ্যবাদী অপপ্রচার। এটি হচ্ছে আধিপত্যবাদী দেশ কর্তৃক মুসলমানদের উপরে আরোপিত একটি অপবাদ। ইসলামের নামে সন্ত্রাসবাদ ও জঙ্গীবাদের সৃষ্টি করে শান্তির ধর্ম হিসেবে ইসলাম ধর্মের ভাবমূর্তি ক্ষুন্ন করা হচ্ছে। মুসলিম বিশ্বে শান্তিপূর্ণ পরিবেশ ও অগ্রগতি দেখলেই তাদের ইসলামোফোবিয়া কাজ করে। এ কারণে সহজতম অস্ত্র জঙ্গীবাদের অপবাদ চাপিয়ে দেয়া হচ্ছে সারাবিশ্বের মুসলমানদের উপর। এটি অন্যায় ও অনৈতিক। জঙ্গী ও সন্ত্রাসের জন্য পাশ্চাত্যের মিডিয়া যেভাবে ইসলাম ও মুসলমানদের  ঢালাও দোষারোপ করছে, তা সত্য নয়।     

ইসলামী বিশেষজ্ঞগণের ভাষ্য হচ্ছে- সন্ত্রাসী ও জঙ্গীরা কোনো ধর্ম ও ধর্মীয় গোষ্ঠীর প্রতিনিধিত্ব করে না। কোন ধর্ম বা ধর্মের অনুসারীরাই সন্ত্রাস ও জঙ্গীবাদকে সমর্থন করেন না, করতে পারেন না। ইসলাম ও মুসলমানদের  জঙ্গীবাদ ও সন্ত্রাসের সঙ্গে জড়িত করে হিংসা, বিদ্বেষ, সংঘর্ষ ও হানাহানি ছড়ানো যাবে- কিন্তু বিশ্বকে সন্ত্রাসমুক্ত করা যাবে না। বরং প্রকৃত জঙ্গী ও সন্ত্রাসী আড়ালেই থেকে যাবে।
